gingerbread

this post is a little belated, but i figure better late than never ! over the holidays i decided to experiment with gingerbread cookies. i had never baked gingerbread before... it was an adventure. i found out that i don't really like gingerbread. funny, huh? i thought my love for gingerbread lattes at starbucks would = a love for the cookie. oh well. below are some pix of my process.

i used a "honey gingerbread" recipe, courtousey of martha.

large bowl of batter...

ready for the fridge.

some finished cookies.

and this one was for my roommate raf. he wanted a "project house". so please take note of the shattered window, door hanging off the hinges, overflowing trash can, loose shingle, and cracked foundation...

Very cute gingerbread - looks like it came out nice. I made some homemade gingerbread loaves to take with me to bryans boss's house for christmas eve dinner - they came out good but they were a little intense with all their gingery flavor up in your business and very very strong lemon icing that i thought was going to me more subtle. oh well :)

Katie,
Question for ya - i was wondering if you still have your course syllabus for the classes that you taught in 2006 (the one that was like 4 hours a night, once a week). I may have the oppurtunity to teach an art appreciation class, and need to make up a syllabus, but since i have no idea what im doing, i was wondering i could look at yours to sort of get an idea - i have some ideas about what works i want to use, etc. but need to see what the finished product looks like, would that be okay? Let me know - my email is still seattlejesse@yahoo.com. is your email still the same by the way?

Sorry for the late comment, I didn't realize you had a blog again! But I made gingerbread cookies for Christmas, and seriously almost broke my stand mixer. That Grandma's molasses is no joke. I loved the project one :)
