manzo didn't hate them...

i experimented with a new recipe. i had the day off, so i decided to work with what i had... this is what you get... dark chocolate chunk apricot and cashew cookies. weird combo - i know. here's how you make them:
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup shortening, softened
1 egg
3 teaspoons vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon baking powder
3/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup sour cream

lots of crushed cashews, chunks of dark cashews, and chopped apricots

bake at 350 degrees for 10-11 minutes (i used a small ice cream scoop to form nice little uniform balls. they didn't really brown on top, but the edges of the bottoms were a little tan.

and like i said - manzo didn't hate them :)

actually, the were a huge hit at the office - with the apricot (which was finely chopped - not big chunks). usually my baked goods last through the day; these suckers were gone before 3pm.
